An access log contains a record of all the files that have been requested by the visitors while browsing your website. The list is thorough, so when you have a webpage with 2 embedded images, for example, all of the three files will be in the log, not just the page. An access log normally contains the date, the OS, the Internet browser and the IP address for every file in human-readable form, so you can get a more complete picture about the most well liked files on your site. The log, that's also commonly called "raw data", is an addition to the web data that you normally get with a hosting account, not a replacement. A good example why you may need this sort of a log is if you want to use some software on your computer system to prepare a report about the website’s performance, but you do not want to use the regular graphs and tables which come with the server-generated website stats.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
If you opt for one of our cloud hosting solutions, you will receive thorough access logs for all of your Internet sites. As soon as you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section where you will see a full list of the domains and subdomains that you've added or created inside the hosting account. You'll simply need to click on the On button, that's situated on the right-hand side of each and every hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs at once. To disable this feature, you'll have to follow the exact same steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains could be handled separately and whenever you want. You'll find a download link inside the Logs section of the Control Panel for every log created by our system, so you can save the file to your desktop or notebook and view it or use it through some log processing software.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you have a semi-dedicated server account with us, it won't take more than a few mouse clicks to enable the generation of access logs by our system if you need them. The function can be enabled through the Hepsia web hosting Control Panel and this can be done independently for each domain or subdomain that you have inside your account. When you log in and check out the Access/Error Logs section of the CP, you will see a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to each one. One click shall enable the log generation and a second one shall deactivate it, so you can control this function with great comfort. A Download link inside the same section will allow you to save the compiled content as a text file, which you may then use on your computer. Even if the logs are deactivated, you shall still be able to download the data that's been previously generated.
